Says Daddy

New Clothes Rock!

I asked her to sit so I could get a picture, she said "okay" but wouldn't smile for me. She is getting ready to try and button her sweater, and she didn't want to put on her coat (which she normally loves to put on), I think she must have notice the patterns didn't coordinate!
Making Daddy's Hands Play the Piano

Lulu was playing the piano and turning the pages of the music and pointing to the notes, then Daddy sat down to play with her which she didn't like as much as grabbing his fingers and making him play.

Hiding Under Covers & Pillows

A daily ritual of climbing on the couch getting under blankets and behind pillows. Not to be mistaken for a game of peek-a-boo... she just loves it.

Tearing the Fake Grapes from the Decorations

Bought my first ever Thanksgiving swag to put out. I didn't spend much money because I didn't know what would happen with them. For weeks she just rearranged the gords, pine cones and pumpkins... then the wrecking started.

Feeding Time for all the Animals

Lulu has been refusing her highchair for months now, but she like her baby dolls and stuffed animals to enjoy a comfy place to chow.

Found the Heating Duct a Source of Great Entertainment

She also started saying "Daddy" so I got her to say it at the end. After awhile of this I cut her off... just too messy to tollerate. I had her sweep it up with a kid broom after that. She enjoyed sweeping the piles (not great mind you) and then pushing them over the vent too. Now the hay bale is off limits (dang except I let her sit on it today). I have to learn to pick my battles!

Under the Chase

It Was a Phase!
For the week she kept putting her shirt over her head, and everytime I tried to put it back she got angry... so I decided not to pick the battle.

What's Under Here?

Bears, hats, balls, kitty.

Lulu's Halloween #2

My Favorite Kitty
After her nap I put her into her kitty costume and didn't let her see until it was all on. I was guessing that she'd not be so fond of it before seeing it on. She has rejected other "kitty" hats that we have around. Anyhow I put it on her and stood her up in the mirror, swooshed her tail and said "meow." She thought it was funny. She went straight to the table to color while I got her things ready to go to Downtown PR for the Kid Krawl (don't know what it's really called).
Needed Car Kitty to Join Us

At Beagle Books
She loved petting BB, a super calm and snuggley yellow Labrador.

She picked out her first book all by herself, Courious George.
We went to about 8 stores downtown before she wanted me to carry her. She scored more candy than she'll be able to eat, and seemed to really like the scene but not the adults in costumes. I don't know that we'll get out anywhere else in costume since she's not a big fan of being in the car.

My Winni-the-Pooh

Kisses for Pooh
I stashed my childhood Pooh bear in her toy box, which she's been digging into for the last couple of days... and out came Winni-the-Pooh, big smiles, hugs and kisses. Awe, too cute!

Projects... and a growing girl.

Timber

*The Lumberjack, is taking down dead trees in the back yard and making a new place for his hammock. This week the other tree just past it was felled.

More Table Time

Lulu again refusing to eat in her high chair rushed straight over to the table for her dinner.

How Lulu gets on a chair.

And then there is daily puzzle time, she brings them to the table after her meal every day (breakfast, dinner) and kicks me out of my chair so she can play there. Below is a video of her with her puzzles and a whole lot of talking going on!

Lulu is really loving to read books now, guess she realized that her dad and I read there a lot and figured she should too. Around bedtime we go play in her room where there are books, and sno-globes... she picks out about 2 books at a time and brings them too me, sits between my legs and lets me read her a little bit (1-2 words per page unless they are her favorite books). Yesterday she was bringing me books, and she said, "OH" leaped off the floor and ran to the book shelf where she'd just seen her First 100 Words book. That and the Cat and the Dog books are almost a guaranteed read through... because she has to kiss all the animals, including the fish, frog, guinea pig, and goat.

Self Diapering

This is the latest in attempts to put diapers on herself. She got into the diaper backpack and took out the diaper and tries many times to put it in the right spot... when she's not doing that she sometimes puts it down on the floor and lays on it like a pillow. Of course the cloth diapers have more cushion! She's really picked up (not from me) playing with dolls at day care, where there are baby dolls and blankets and tiny carriers. She puts the baby in the carrier and covers her with a blanket... it's super cute until we have to leave the baby at Day Care where not even her Bear-Bear makes her stop the crying (but M&M's do- bad Mommy!)

The New Baby's Chair

While passing a garage sale this weekend I saw this chair/swing for 50 cents. The mom I bought it from said corroded batteries were inside and so it doesn't consistently work. I figured I would try to fix it, no loss for that cheap. As soon as I bought it in the door though it's been Lulu's newest favorite toy. She stands and swings, she sits and swings, she puts all her animals in it, and sometimes her animals and her balls. She also puts her animals in the swing and covers them up with her blanket. It's so cute.

Nail Room

My latest investment everything in the room except the bookshelf so now that we hired a mgr, I do manicures and pedicures.

The Girl Scouts register this week, and I am suppose to be helping out... I think Friday. I did get all our Day Camp "Cup with Love Project" cups glazed and fired this weekend. I always forget how cute everything looks when it's fired and shiny.

I am so close to finishing our book club book from forever ago, then I want to read one last old book before I move onto the October PR book Remedies. The Menahga BC is going to see the Eat, Pray, Love movie and have dinner this week I think? I hope so since I didn't enjoy that read enough to get past the first 1/4 of the book. It'll be great to see everyone after the long summer break.

Lastly, I decided that when I don't have clients on Wednesday afternoons I am going back to my Knitting Support Group. And Mom, the first thing I am finishing is that Tea Cozy for your Russian Tea Pot. Then it's back to the sweater that I started before Lulu was born!

The End

A little bopping around from Lulu. She's got on a cute outfit... and her diaper hangs out the back, so many clothes don't work for cloth diapers!

A Little Lulu In Our Life

The New Swing
What Does a Kitty/Doggie Say?

Always Up For A Golf Cart Ride

Chicken Pot Pie with Utencils & A Big Girl Cup

Breakfast at the Kitchen Table

Lunch at the Kitchen Table

Snack at the Kitchen Table

The weeks pass by so quickly that some days it seems I only get to spend 3-5 hours with my little girl. She's growing so fast. Every day that passes she gets more and more independant. She doesn't want help doing anything, these days. She started eating with spoons and forks a few weeks ago, and really being able to shovel the food into her mouth. Of course she's been really picky about food too, so it's been rough. I hate that she loves mac-n-cheese so much but it's my back up food. I just found out that she likes chicken pot pie, not so much the crust but the veggies and filling so maybe I will learn to make some homemade pot pies. She started drinking out of a big girl cup last week and there's no turning back. She'll take a sippy at day care though... oh and she'll only take a bottle at night! The latest problem besides wanting to be held only while I am standing up is that she no longer lets me brush her teeth.

Well off to hang with my Lulu, I think she's running a mild temperture. This would be her first.
