A Little Memorial Garden for Mom
Although my Mom could grow any plant or flower ever time I see hydrangeas I think of her. When I first planted flowers in front of my house she helped me plan the beautiful flower garden. For many years my clematis was her Achilles, but in the fall the wind blew the topiary over, and the a hard winter harmed the root system. So I planted a hydrangea gardenen.
My Beautiful Mom
She was “extra” as my niece said at her memorial service, which was true, but she did it all with class and love for her family.
She was a great at so many things: sewing, cooking, interior design, color theory, furniture up-cycling, and so much more…
Growing and drying flowers, which is where hydrangeas come in. We couldn’t pass a hydrangea bush without her wanting to stop and clip off a bit.
During summer I notice all of the hydrangea bushes in bloom, and during the winter sometimes a bundle of dried hydrangeas will blow in my direction, reminding me that her memories live on.
These are hydrangeas flowers from that the garden produced.
Unfortunately I was unsuccessful at growning this garden a second year! Grrr.
